About Us

In 1995, the owner and a few associates began manufacturing concrete block in Rock Island, Illinois. Thirteen years later, hard work and determination have transformed Country Stone into a 10 plant, fully automated, multi-state operation. Our manufacturing facilities include: Quad Cities, IL. Ft. Wayne, IN, Council Bluffs, IA, La Porte, IN, Waupaca, WI, and Minneapolis, MN.

After producing concrete products for several years, we broadened our products base in 1999 with the addition of bagged decorative stone and a complete line of soils. To date, our bagged decorative stone lines have grown to 17 different items and the soil line has expanded into numerous premium blends. In the past two seasons, we have brought in mulches, boulders, and flagstone to compliment our lines and make ordering even easier. We currently are producing man different types of our own mulches and plan to expand that line even further.

To compliment our evolving business, we started our own trucking company almost immediately. Quad City Express, founded in 1995, now boasts 45 Flat bed semi-trucks and hauls approximately 25% of Country Stone's loads. Quad City Express also hauls a variety of loads all across the Midwest.

The addition of each line to our program has allowed us to expand our customer base significantly. Offering all of the products, delivered on the same truck, to our retail outlets, has created a variety of opportunities for them. Many, who couldn't order before now have the opportunity to develop categories that they were deficient in, with little or no inventory concerns. Lastly the flexibility of our program allows for the prospect of new customers capturing late season sales.
